ICTF CREST

Picture
The lines in the background form a sphere, which represents the all encompassing nature of our art.  It also refers to the fact that everyone is welcome to join our Federation.  It is uniform, a perfect sphere, with no top, bottom or sides.  This means that our organization is without prejudice, fair, impartial, and has high Integrity.  The sphere also represents the planet Earth, upon which everyone must live, but without borders, no designated lines dividing the human race.  Everyone is equal and has the right to be included in all things in regards to our Federation.  (It is more than just a globe)

The Kicker defines our art.  Taekwon, means to kick and punch, which our figure is doing.  The outline in yellow shows our roots with the ITF that General Choi started, as the yellow fist in their logo has expanded outward.  The black of the silhouette shows the highest level of belt in Taekwon-Do.  It represents the fact that we are not afraid to move forward.

The words in red Korean writing refer to our Art by name.  The red symbolizes that the art of Taekwon-Do sends a warning to all other arts.  They must be aware of the popularity of Taekwon-Do and its effect on people worldwide. It symbolizes the rapid growth of our art and thanks the pioneers who first took Taekwon-Do to the world.

The blue behind the lines of the sphere represents peace. It also refers to the nickname Blue Cottage or Chang-Hon.  It also represents water, which is fluid and can form to any container, and so symbolizes the strength of our Federation in our ability to grow and change with new ideas and concepts; to not be stuck in one line of thought.

The name of our Federation is written encircling the rest.  This shows that our Federation looks after its own.  We strive to build a system of administration and technique that is for the members and not just for the few elite.  The name is also written so that no part of the name is upside down.  This allows for ease of reading but also symbolizes our level headedness, straightforward thinking, and Honest approach to new and old ideas.

The solid black ring around the outside of the logo represents our steadfast resolution to produce technically superior martial artists and our Loyalty to the Federation, our Instructors, our fellow Taekwon-doists, and our students.

The absence of the colour green, the middle colour belt level, symbolizes that Taekwon-Do is not finished.  It can still grow and develop.  Also that our family of Chang-Hon Taekwon-Doists are not all together, but some day the hope is that all Chang-Hon practitioners can unite.
